Sensei Chris Oakley
Lead Instructor
Christian Oakley, is the Founder and Lead Instructor at Martial Journey. Martial arts have been a prominent part of his life since 1988. Although he holds a 6th Dan Black Belt, he enjoys training regularly and occasionally compete in BJJ, where he holds a 1st Dan Black Belt. He takes the privilege and responsibility of teaching to heart and hopes to be a meaningful influence for all his students.
Our Staff
Our dedicated staff, were students first, before contributing towards our dojo's legacy. They understand the challenges in training and are an enthusiastic cheer squad for other students. They're equally capable, whether conducting classes, managing student progression, or handling customer enquiries.

Martial Journey Staff receive ongoing training in: Issei Ryu Bujutsu, Communication & people skills, First Aid, CPR, & Child Safety. Those 18yrs and above holds a Working With Children Check.

Our Sun Team Leaders were carefully selected for their empathy, desire to help others, and their commitment to our dojo. They volunteer time on the mat to learn leadership skills and to collaborate as a team. Those 18yrs and above holds a Working With Children Check.
Our Management Team
Chris (Lead Instructor), Tracy (Admin & Tuitions Manager), Cindy (Team Manager), forms our management team; each contributing different strengths and expertise to our dojo.
Tracy was a dojo mum, juggling her children's training schedules and other activities, when we recruited her to our team in 2016. Her experience in the education sector and accounting has made her an invaluable part of our team. Her perspective as a parent is equally valued.
Cindy began her career as a Graphics & User Interface Designer, never imagining she would one day be running a martial arts academy. But life has a way of leading us exactly where we’re meant to be, and she is embracing the challenges and the adventures.
