Why we wear black
Martial arts 'gi' come in all colours, although they are commonly depicted in white. At Martial Journey, our uniform is black because, black hides dirt the best.
At Martial Journey, we teach a style of martial art that require students to be standing AND on the ground. We also incorporate occasional outdoor training, and black is the most resilient and easy-care colour.

Summer months
During the warmer months (Term4 & Term1), students may wear:
Gi pants
Martial Journey Tee
Belt
However, please bring your Gi top to every class, incase we do grabs and contact work. The Gi is designed to be sturdy and not stretch the way t-shirts or jumpers may. This requirement is for our students' safety.
Winter months
Martial Journey have warm, cosy hoodies that are popular with students during the cooler months. This is an optional item that is available for purchase at reception.
Uniform care
Please wash the Gi in cold water. Do NOT tumble dry. Iron when necessary.
It's not necessary to wash the Belt, as this may cause the stripes earned, to come off. A sponge wipe may be enough if the belt gets dirty.
